Dr. Hawthorne is a graduate of Louisiana College and the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport. He completed both his internship and residency training in internal medicine at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. This was followed by a fellowship in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology also at the Medical College of Virginia and then a second subspecialty fellowship at Bowman-Gray School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology. He is also a fellow in the American College of Cardiology and a member of the Heart Rhythm Society. Dr. Hawthorne was one of the founding physicians of Cenla Heart Specialists.
Dr. Rangi received his medical education from Punjab University Govt. Medical College in Patiala, Punjab, India. He followed with a medical internship at Rajindra Hospital in Patiala. He then served a residency at Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and went on to complete a Cardiology Fellowhip at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Dr. Rangi is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology as well as being a fellow in the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Rangi has been a partner at Cenla Heart Specialists since 2007.
Raised in Alexandria, Dr. Nijjar is a Bolton High School graduate. He received his medical education from Tulane University in New Orleans. He completed his medical internship at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. He followed with a Residency at LSU University Medical Center in Lafayette, La and also the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Nijjar followed with his Fellowship at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans.
He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Nijjar has been a partner at Cenla Heart Specialists since 2013.
